Updated Golf Handicaps

Hi all. Just a quick question. I am trying to get my handicap down and unfortunately the last few rounds I have had were disasters and I am heading the other way.
I have looked up Golfnet and noticed that even though I entered my scores on the computers I have not got any .1's back.
Does the fact that they were away competitions make a difference? When do I get these back? Does the computer system not do it automatically?
I am playing at the weekend and want to play off correct handicap. Any answers?

They are reviewed monthly. Changes refelect competition results, any competition at home or away.

Thanks. Who reviews them? Is it the club or does golfnet automatically do it?

    This is not correct,

Monthly handicap revisions were discontinued about 2 years ago. The handicap ajustments will appear on Golfnet soon after the club in which you played uploads the competition results to Golfnet. Some clubs may not do this immediately and could take a few days.

You play at an Away club.
Away club closes competition, a file is sent to golfnet.
Golfnet processes these files (batch, couple of times a day, not instant).
At this stage there are 'away' records available for other 'home' clubs to download.
Your home club either specifically asks their software to download these away scores or it's often done when they are in the process of closing their own competition.
Once these away scores are download they appear on your home club's computer and you're good to go (this is your valid handicap. Assuming here that you're talking about an increase because you should play off a handicap that you know to be lower than is on the system if necessary).

There often seems to be a few days limbo before the updated stuff appears on golfnet (out of 'away records' and into your record proper). Check your away records button on Golfnet. If there are scores there then it seems that the away clubs have uploaded your results but your home club hasn't published lately?

Thanks Licksy. That answers everything. Was wondering did I need to contact the club but it looks like I'll be sorted in a few days so
