How are you doing? I’m looking for a band for my wedding on August 12th this year but thing is it’s in Normandy in France, so we’d need the band to travel to there. The wedding is over a 3 day weekend but we’d only really need you to play on the 12th. We’d cover the cost of travelling to and from and basically give you a free weekend in France, ideally no more than a 4 piece band as the travel costs will be too much but could go up to a 5 piece at most if the band is right. But basically we are looking for some classics from the 70’s, 80’s, 90’s, current, rock (Classics from the likes of AC/DC, guns & roes that sort of thing), but are open to others too. If this sort of thing sounds like something you might be interested in PM me and we’ll talk more.
    Cheers.

Well the problem is that a lot of French band are dodgy and have a different style of music then we want, so far I havn’t had much joy with them, I have been looking for an Irish/English band over there but no luck yet.

    Cheers anyway.

I'm inclined to think that this will require a colossal outlay on your part, if you want any kind of a decent band that is. They're probably going to want to drive over with their own equipment rather than risk local backline/PA. And they'll be missing another wedding or two at home -- not to mention their day jobs. No-one's going to do just this for the craic.

    My two cents anyway :o

    hey OP

I'm inclinied to disagree with the last poster. I think you might get very lucky..

however I wouldnt go with a wedding band..Id go with a good pub rock band. Some band that are charging approx 400-500 for pub gigs.

It will be a little costly to carry gear over but they should surely be able to hire amps / PA etc over there.
Plus, if you get the right guys you can be sure that they will up for the craic and a good ol' fashioned sing song well into the night..:D

    Best of luck

Yeah, a bit negative above, I know. Still, it doesn't stop him from trying, but time's running out for booking a class act.
