Ok so I've been dying my hair black for about 3 years. Just wanna know does Colour B4 shift black dye from your hair or would I have to strip it. Please don't give me a lecture about stripping my hair as I have done it before and know its damaging etc. I just want to know does Colour B4 remove black hair dye from hair. Thanks :)

It will remove some of the colour but youll probably still have to bleach it after, especially after dying it black for so long! I dyed mine black by accident once a few months ago and used coloyr b4, it lightened it up a bit but thats about it

I had my hair dark, used that the other day... It lightened it up a good bit but its still not as light as I need it to be. Not sure weather to try it again or bleach it.

I had mine very very very dark brown (such colour build up on the length it looked black) from years of getting it coloured and the extra strength Colour B4 lifted it out pretty well. I did follow the cling film and extra time instructions which probably helped a bit. Years before I'd had it 'stripped' at a hairdressers and they ruined it (it went orangey blonde) whereas Colour B4 has just taken it back to my natural mid-brown. I needed two boxes though as my hair is almost to my waist.

Mega thumbs up from me anyway.

Edit: Not sure if the extra strength one is on sale in ROI as I've never seen it down here.

Use the extra strength one, you can buy it in Boots. Depending on the length and condition of your hair, you may need two boxes, but speaking from experience its definitely removes it. Do get an ash blonde wash out color to use after because it will need to be toned(the black dye will have bleached your natural color and leave your hair orangey)

Yup works. You won't be getting a lecture from me because my hair was in great nick after using the product.

It really depends what colour your trying to achieve? if you want to just lift it a couple of levels it should work fine. but if your expecting miracles.. such as black to blonde.. no there is not a hope. But if you just want to go brown then it should be fine. best of luck :)

It will but you will need to do it at least twice I think, also please make sure you follow the instructions properly as if you do not rinse it enough then it can get darker again after a few days, the one brand the maker says it won't work properly on is Schwarzkopf, those xxl live colours.

The guy who invented it is on facebook and is pretty fast at replying to queries, so if you have a facebook profile then if you leave a comment telling him your natural hair colour, hair dye history, what brands of hair dye you've used etc. he should be able to tell you what result you should expect, just search for 'Scott cornwall hair expert' on facebook.
