Mouthguard

I recently got a mouthguard to wear at night as I was clenching my teeth while sleeping, however I am finding it very difficult to wear. How long should it take to get used to it? I can't sleep with it at all at the moment, keep walking up etc. Also all my front teeth feel very achy and painful after its been removed as the mouthguard fits very tightly on the front. I thought the only painful part was paying the few hundred it cost :o Its a hard acrylic custom fit mouthguard and the dentist spent time adjusting it to fit correctly. I expected it to take time to get used to but I'm concerned that its a bit painful wearing it.

it can take a little time to get used to. regarding it hurting your teeth, my dentist recommended putting a small amount of toothpaste in it before putting it on. i used sensodyne and it worked for me..
