Do you have a digital optical connection on your PC if you do then you'll have a lot more options.

I bought the Samsung HT-C450 for €200 after Christmas, and find it fantastic. It has an optical input which is what you want for the ps3.

A soundcard with a optical port would help and it be better if it has Dolby live as well.

The PS3 need a digital optical connection for sound or it need the receiver to allow the audio through HDMI, but most receivers won't have a analogue connection like the pc will need.

You really need a decent soundcard with what i said if you want to use the same set up for the PC and PS3.

The Logitech Z-5500 or it's newly released replacement Z906 have both the connections for analogue PC 5.1 sound and an optical for DDL from the PS3. The Z-5500 is still widely available even though it has just been discontinued, it can be had for around €300. The Z906 is just out and is usually around €350. The main difference between the two is that the Z-5500 only has one optical input whereas the Z906 has two.

They are both very good sets of speakers for the money and can be used with just about anything. Be warned the sub on both is very large so you will need plenty of space.

I've had the Z-5500 for several years and I'm very happy with it. I used to use it with my PS3, but now I only use it for my PC as I bought an AV reciever and decent 5.1 home theater speakers.
