    At 9.50 a kilo, it's worth considering trying samphire yourself
    Samphire is a halophyte perennial - i.e. it likes salty soil conditions, as do salsola and scurvygrass, all edible.

    Once established, and eaten - never forgotten.
    It is a delicious, that crispy, juicy, salty texture of bacon - but a veg
