I was at one a few years back and it was great. Lovely wedding venue, very fancy and refined, I went to winter wedding so it was mulled wine on arrival. Dinner was gorgeous.

I am planning my own wedding athe moment, and have looked at it as a possible venue but it is still very expensive, corkage pricing is ridiculous in comparison to other venues. I havent met with anyone up there so I dont know how much they would negotiate by.

    Def worth a trip up!

You should go for a look, prices seem very reasonable for what you get.

Yeah, their all inclusive packages are very reasonable. They're great to deal with.

i was at a wedding there two years ago and i've never had food at a wedding like it since. it was out of this world. we stayed for two nights and had a meal in the restaurant the night before the wedding - absolutely outstanding food.

the meal at the wedding was also first class. there were about 140 people and it felt more they were catering for 20-30 covers in a small restaurant, such was the quality of the food and the attention to detail. the hotel staff were so friendly and courteous to us the guests, it was an absolute pleasure to stay there. we didn't want to come home!!

I'm a Cork based videographer and have recorded a few weddings there. It's a great spot for a wedding. Large garden out the back, great when the weather is good. Also the food is excellent. The band usually are set up so there is little delay waiting for the first dance.
    Highly recommended !

Played music for a civil ceremony there recently and the reception was upstairs. It was actually for friends of mine so I stayed for the entire thing and it was wonderful.Staff very nice, lovely open space, residents bar was lovely afterwards. Food beautiful and everything flowed very nicely. Highly recommend.

When you are involved with weddings on a professional and personal level you notice the little things all the more and even the way the manager greeted me and asked someone to help me with my things to the piano etc was very admirable and thoughtful!

Thanks for that Aoife! They have good enough packages but still out of my price range. Just hoping that they'll come down on it!

Sorry for resurrecting an old thread but we're considering booking the Maryborough for our wedding next year and I want to check out something the Hotel told me - if you have attended a wedding here (or even better, had your own wedding there) could you drop me a pm please.

What's the thing, why the secrecy? I've been to 2 weddings there, but I don't remember every tiny detail.

Hi, have been to a NYE function there and thought it was fabulous!

We are thinking of it as a potential wedding venue so would be interested to hear by pm what you were told by them. Thanks!
