Flying with ethiad in a few days to bangkok via abu dhabi.
Just wondering what they are like.
Heard they give free drink on the planes like other long haul service airlines, is this true.

I did this route during February from Heathrow and they are a decent enough service, they give free drinks (alcohol also) and meals, you will be looking at a 7hour flight to Abu Dhabi (presuming Dublin or London as your departure point) and 6 hour onwards to Bangkok. Search my posts re: Thailand and what to look out for if it is your 1st trip, never ever leave valuables out of your sight on a bus!

Etihad are grand and the brief stop off in Abu Dhabi makes for a welcome break if you dislike the monotony of a long haul flight.

Sit back relax and enjoy, they are probably one of the best airlines in the world to fly with.

They are good, and would be up in the top 10 alongside the likes of Singapore, Emirates, Qantas and Lufthansa. OP did you try Thai International? If I ever fly to Thailand again I will fly direct with them as I found their internal service to be very good.

I've flown a good few times with them into Abu Dhabi and always found the service great

You are given a menu of the meals available and free drink as much as you request :D Although last time I flew, the small bottles of wine weren't available and the crew were monitoring how much had been doled out to everyone (not just to me, I swear!!!)

Flew with them to SA via Abu Dhabs.
Great airline, very accommodating although they have a real problem accepting passports that are ancient or in bad condition.
Good food, beautiful and friendly staff. Free booze, good selection of films.
Nice Arabic prayer at the start of every flight to get u in the mood,
Bumped me and two mates up to business class fora flight from Cape Town via Joburg to Abu which was great, on the Irish leg of the flight there was enough room to lay out over 4 seats and sleep. Maybe we were just crazy lucky.
There flat rate flights are great too. Cheapest way for us to get to SA last summer.

    Mood for what?

Free booze and ogling the lovely ladies? :D

Don't speak arabic but the voice the prayer is delivered in sounds sinister to me.

Excellent airline, though their website and FF program aren't great imo.
