Use them all the time. Works out cheap considering we are being ripped off royally here and the exchange rate favours the euro. Be warned that they have shipping as well so price might not be as low as you think.

yep its like 7 dollars shipping to here i think?..they were a little vague on the delivery page so i may email them...gona buy 1 or 2 games too so the shipping will mean less in a way lol

do you know about the question i asked on the blue controller on site and my cousins?..thats my only worry :\

The shipping won't get cheaper with the more items you buy, it adds up and after a certain weight the shipping will sky rocket. Best to order seperately. Those controllers if marked as genuine will be genuine, they're legit. Also their shipping can be a bit slow lately sometimes taking more than 5 working days so be patient if you don't get your stuff within the week you ordered it.

oh i though like a few stuff ordered would be in one package meaning just the 1 shipping price..tenner added to 30 would seem worse than tenner added to say 80..i duno im stupid :P lol

na few days delivery is grand :) hmm guess the different colour sony colours dont matter lol ill order it next week cheers

I used to use them back in the day when a PS3 game was E70, these days though with being E45-50 there's not much point of importing(and if I wanted a controller I'd use Ebay as i have done before)

couldnt really get cheaper than 31 plus fiver on shipping on ebay could you?..i searched about controllers and from what i saw its best to avoid ebay, saw a video comparing a fake white one to a real one...they just about sync with the ps3:eek:

think ill just use the website as with shipping its still way cheaper than in shops here + never saw a white controller in any shops

    thanks for replys :)

Yeah used them once and was very impressed. Pre-ordered my copy of Catherine on there yesterday and was taken aback that the shipping had jumped quite a bit ($14 I think). Oh well, at least they ship internationally!

It goes by the size of the box. The Y's special editions and my special edition of Devil Summoner 2 cost a lot more in shipping than a normal game.

Only problem is you may have to be DLC off the north american PS store. Bought a few games off them though, quite good!

Maybe they bought your cvv number off the PSN hackers...maybe...:p

Also, +1 to vg+, have used them before and will use them again.

They process payments through beanstream and most likely have set the account up not to check the CVV - it is an option but most merchant account providers will insist on it here - it's ovbiously not the same in Canada.

Sorry was originally meant to post a reply to the OP

The controllers available from Videogamesplus.ca are usually US / Canadian versions. There can be very slight differences to EU versions but they are genuine Sony controllers.

Just for movie watching you can buy American Region A locked Blu-Ray's that won't play on EU blu-ray players or PS3's. Why would u buy these? Sometimes movies are released on Blu-ray months before their release in Ireland or they have better features etc.

DHL are the courier company that they sent the PS3 from Canada to Ireland with http://www.dhl.ie/en.html :)

Any PS3 can buy content from any store.

Netflix works for you? Not IP dependant?

As I said never bothered with them, I was able to get in so far see ads for the services etc but it prompted me to reqister with the site, one day i might try.

As regards disadvantges not on the gaming side but some of the region B (europe) Blu-Rays are region locked so they won't play in it. I might just sell it sometime soon as tbh I've never used it that much as I chipped a Panasonic Blu-Ray player last year and that allows me to play Region A locked Blu-Rays.

    Yeah, it's IP restricted.
I can log into Netflix on my Irish PS3 (with US PSN account) but when you are about to stream content it just displays an error saying it cannot stream the content to your region.

Never got stopped by customs using these guys and I've ordered huge special editions like the Devil Summoner 2 special edition. Anyway I'm pretty sure the purchase has to be over a certain amont before they can charge customs and it's much less than a dual shock.

  • Company Representative Posts: 2,957 ✭✭✭Gamesnash.ie: Pat

The limit for VAT is €22 , limit for customs is €150. In the case of a single dual shock controller customs duty would not apply but VAT would if the package were stopped.

If you have a look through the online buying forum you will see many posts from people who's small packages have been stopped, vat levied and then admin fees of up to €16.00 added on as well.

I'm not saying that purchases will be stopped, just that it's a possibillty. :)

thats only if it goes through a courier company where an admin charge will be added on top, and its usually around 13e.

if it were sent through the post, the chances of it being stopped are a lot lot slimmer, and you would be liable for nothing, but its a risk

in saying all that support irish business ;)

Thanks for clearing that up. I'm just saying that it's not exactly much of a risk. I'm always importing games and have done so for years and have not once gotten caught by customs and gotten charged a VAT charge. Custom charges are different and I have heard of people getting consoles stopped and when you had to import Guitar Hero it happened as well but I never import hardware so never happened to me. It might be different for a dual shock since it's hardware but for games my post has never been stopped.

    If memory serves me correctly

An Post have a €6 admin charge.
    UPS €16
    DHL €13

It's rare but it is getting more common that games are being stopped.

I've never ordered from, but as recommended on a different thread...

    www.planetaxel.com

They seem to stock all their stuff from America yet promise that they're shipped from within the EU. Some US exclusive games and cheap American controllers though. Promising...
