    Hey everybody

I have recently decided to get rid of my Canon DSLR and get a micro four thirds camera. I have opted for the Olympus E-P2. Main reason I am changing this setup as it would suit me better regarding weight/size and be perfect for street photography.

I have never used one. I have read up a few reviews, looked at pictures on Flickr and also watched a few videos on Youtube.

The camera looks rather cool. It's different in many aspects to my DSLR. I am worried that if I did purchase one I would be let down by the image quality/capabilities or performance. I have read on boards that the difference in IQ is noticeable and the pictures turn out 'square' (not too sure what that means:confused:).

Can people give their opinions on this camera or micro four thirds cameras? Would be nice to get a few responses as it would more than likely make my mind up. Don't want to make a mistake! :D

Haven't used the Oly EP2 but have used the Panasonic GH1 (also m4/3) and the IQ is excellent. Yes, you give up a little in image quality but unless you're pixel-peeping or printing huge, you probably won't notice. If you need v.fast frame rates, shoot at high ISOs a lot, you'll probbly miss the SLR though...

Just seen the EPL1 + kit lens is great value at around £300 stg on Amazon now, whereas the EP2 is more than double that

    Hi SetOverSet :D

Yeah I came across the Panasonic GH1 & GH2. The GH1 seems like a decent camera. I also think that Panasonic is a good brand having had a few Panasonic things in the past…

I would either go for the Olympus E-P2 or the Panasonic GH2. Mainly because they are the newest model cameras over the E-P1 and GH1.

There was no real reason why I chose the E-P2 over the GH2. I just noticed there are more Olympus’ for sale 2nd hand so I said I will go for 1 of them. I will be selling my DSLR to fund a 2hand one. I think they look good too.

It’s nice to hear anyways SetOverSet that the IQ is excellent on a m4/3 camera.

I’ll check up the prices of the EP1 and EP2 on Amazon. Cheersm;)
