    Hi All,

Just wondering can anyone verify if purchase of credits for stock images & vector files is subject to vat in Ireland when they are purchased from non eu countries, i.e. Canada , USA & New Zealand.

    Thanks
    Myles

Tricky one.. You are talking about Irish VAT I take it? Non-EU countries may have sales taxes (or even a tax called VAT) but they'd be very separate to EU-VAT.

Without knowing much about the underlying product I'd guess that it's a supply of services. In which case the place of supply is where the buyer is established. So if the buyer is in business, he/she would have to self-account on reverse charge basis. If a private individual I don't think VAT would arise. Technically vendor might have a liability but if they're making one-off supplies they probably aren't up to speed with that.

    I'm open to correction though..
