Summer Boredom/Madness

    Hi,

I'm a student finishing up college exams soon enough. I've been searching for a job for the last god knows how long, only to get many a 'no thanks'. I can't seem to find anything other than waitressing (which I'd be rubbish at) or charity collections.

I'm still living at home, havent moved out for college or anything and last summer I ended up getting totally down about having nothing to do for the summer. I already volunteer with a charity regularly and without sounding harsh, I'd much rather do something that gives me more independence and/or pays me.

Unfortunately, I did not have the money to embark on a J1 this summer, unlike most of my friends, but I'd love to just try something different this summer. I've been looking at jobs, like ship staff etc, but havent found a thing.

Besides all of this rambling, I'm getting quite anxious about this 4 1/2 month gap of nothing thats coming around very fast. Does anybody have any ideas what a person like myself could do?

    Many thanks in advance.

I agree with the previous person, look for summer camp jobs. several english companies run live-in activity centers for kids/teens in the UK and Europe. deadlines might have passed for a lot of them by now, but its still worth calling up as a lot of ppl might drop out. just google, theres plenty of companies, searching outdoor jobs uk or something should give you a starting point.
if you want to stay in Ireland look into residential language courses for foreign teens, theres usually a good few of those around Dublin.
    hope you find something!
