    Hi all,
I'm trying to save money by not paying 8k~ to Fingal CoCo to be connected to mains water as part of my house build, so I'm looking to get a well drilled for drinking water.
I'm currently looking around for recommendations for water well drilling company, anyone have any good/great dealings with any?

    North Co.Dublin area

It is my experience that if the mains water is passing your site and you can connect to it, you are charged the contribution for it, whether you connect or not.

    Hi,
This is not the case as I've already negotiated the reduction with the council that I will not connect to the mains water passing the site but drill a well.

I need to drill the well and get flow rates and the water checked in a lab, but once I do that and the council sign off on the water quality/flow then I will get a reduction in the 'planning contribution'

Fair dues to you for arguing that deal, because, like PUT above, elsewhere that is the case, whether you connect or not, if there is a fair and reasonable supply, then they, the LA, can and do charge the levy.
It is seen as two fold by them, 1: They can collect the needed revenue and also 2: can monitor and dictate the useage of potable waters for supply...
Without knowing your site though, you should be aware first of all the separation distances required to attain safe potable waters, ie other wells/roads/farm lands/percolation areas etc etc..

All points noted - anyone recommend a water well drilling company?
