hi all, would be grateful if someone would give me advise on where to
buy a really nice white shirt, getting married in a few weeks, hiring out the suit and willing to spend a bit to get a decent fitting shirt. i'm kinda an awkward fit, long & skinny.
was looking at the thomas pink site, any one purchase one of these?
    thanks

Hi I bought my boyfriend one last week in marks and spencers- they have skinny fit and they look great ..there good quality- paid €35 which i thought was good. He always goes for the skinny ranged ones in there- only thing is they have limited colours, but they have white which is what your looking for
    :) Hope you get sorted

Prob best to check their website and get a code for the shinny shirt- you could ring cork M&S to make sure they have it in your size (so its not a wasted journey for ya), in the past we have ordered stuff with M&S takes few days so least you know it will be there when you go down- besides a wasted journey

If you want a very nice shirt and you've got a few weeks then you've time to do it properly.

    - find a shirt you like that fits well at the collar. In fact, you should get it slightly too big because it will shrink by about 1/4 of an inch in the wash.

    - with your size, make sure that the sleeves and body are long enough.

    - don't worry about looking for a "slim-fit" shirt. If you find one, great, but the easier option is to bring a "regular" shirt to a tailor and have them take it in for you. It's an easy job and not expensive.

P.S. Thomas Pink have some nice shirts but they are massively overpriced.

dingbat thanks for taking the time to reply, a tailor, they still exist!?
i'm not the most savvy of shoppers, sounds good though, i'm an awkward size long arms and scrawny, shirts never look good. that's why i'm willing to pay for a decent fit. so i'll get one this weekend and tailor it to fit, nice!
thanks for the tip of TP shirts though,

Glad to be of assistance. I don't know of tailors in Limerick but I'm sure somebody on the forum could point you in the right direction if needed :)

    Enjoy the big day!
