Anybody know if it's possible to access the full range of ebooks available from Kindle US store (or any other US e-book store) whether on iPad itself or through a PC and than access and use them on the iPad/iPhone apps?

The selection available to Irish customers using the international version of the amazon.com kindle store seems pretty pathetic. Would be great to have access to more titles.

I just logged onto Amazon.com on my iPad and purchased through there ? It was pretty straight forward unless they've changed it that you can only buy from the .co.uk store now ?

Yes, I have a seperate US amazon account I use for kindle (and some real book) purchases.

It's tied to my Irish credit card and irish address and I haven't had any issues.

Sorry, should have been clearer. The default position for Irish customers as far as I know is that we are directed to the amazon.com kindle store but are only offered a limited international version of the kindle store with poor availability of titles.

I don't think I've ever once managed to find a non-fiction book I wanted to get on there.

However, the version of the amazon.com store which US customers can access offers a vastly superior range of titles.

Is there any way to trick my computer and/or iPad into letting me buy from the full US store (to access greater range of books) and access the content on my iPad?

I don't have an iPad so don't know the full ins and outs....

I have a Kindle and there is Kindle software you can download from amazon.com to read Kindle books on a PC.

AFAIK, the books are in .mobi format. If you have the Kindle app on your iPad is there some way of transferring them over? You could download a free book and try it out.

If you did it that way (I know its a roundabout way) you should get the full range of books available on amazon.com. (I am assuming as a Kindle user I am getting the range of books you are talking about?)

(At the moment I transfer a .mobi version of the Irish Times via USB to my Kindle. And I review books on my PC and send them wirelessly to my Kindle.)

But there has got to be an easier way...

Really? I did that as well, but still getting Irish store only. Set up a new amazon account with US address only, but still giving me limited range of books..
