    Folks
Got delivery of this there today:
    http://www.dealtastic.co.uk/dvb-t-usb-freeview-reciever-recorder.html

The little aerial from where I am here in Mayo isn't strong enough to work in the laptop dongle, but I plugged it into my standard aerial that I have for the TV with kak picture and it scanned and picked up 18 of the digital channels.

Ok you have to use your PC/TV as you have to install the software, but in case you have that at home and can't get an mpeg4 receiver it might do a job for you.

    Thanks

OOOPs - should be "TV Stick in title"!!! :(

I have something similar. Great reception through roof aerial but recording output is awful. Choppy as f*ck. I have usb video capture card and it works fine for recording. Any idea as to why the recorded output from the digital tv stick is so bad??

If it is playing OK, then the problem is on the PC, I reckon.

I have a similar one on a slow PC, and it records perfectly, but the PC is not man enough to display the HD .....

Hmmm maybe you're right. I'l try it on a different machine tonight and see what the story is. I set the video capture to SD and all that lark and still no joy. Strange though that I get perfect results with the video capture stick and not with the DVB-T one.

why are you using a video capture card?

Should be straight into a usb on the pc with the usb dtt stick.

Because the usb video capture stick captures video perfectly. The usb DVB-T stick doesn't.

So I tried it on an old Acer 5050 which is far inferior to my other laptop and the recorded output is perfect!

I, and many others, are using cheap USB sticks to view Saorview channels on PCs.

I have no idea what you mean by 'registered' :(

I think he is refering to the software that comes with it. It is probably not a genuine copy.

I've narrowed it down even more. My media player of choice is the KM Player...but it wasn't handling the recorded files at all. They play perfectly on Media Player Classic.
