Is Osama dead?

I may get shouted out of it for this, but just having a discussion in my office about himself, and the general idea is that yeah there's a chance he's dead, but if he is, this burying him at sea ****e is nonsense.

Want to know what the general opinion on this is. Poll coming. Expecting a lot of 'why would they say he's dead if he's not' kinda stuff, and while I don't understand politics a whole lot, I can see a few reasons why they'd make it up.

so do you believe he's dead? and in general do you believe the whole story?

Don't see any other polls on this, I did search. and I think it's a bit more suited to general discussion than conspiracy theories.

everyone loves a good conspiracy, including myself, but i would say he is dead.

his religion demands an early burial, normally a burial at sea would only be if he had died at sea, but what country would want the most wanted terrorist in the worlds body boried in its soil, could also be used as a rally point for extremists.

i would imagine he is dead, and the US have photos and movies to prove, but will not release them until everything has died down.

Would be great if God resurrected him for the laugh.

Yes he is dead. I await photographic evidence of his death to decide if he died the other day or years ago.

Ok, lets say for a minute there is a conspiracy and the events didn't happen as reported. Are you claiming he's been dead for years? He was killed in an airstrike? The American's have captured him and are holding him in secret? He was captured years ago and has been continuously tortured since? He died in a heart attack on Sunday and the American's got a funeral invitation but are now claiming responsibility for the myocardial infarction? Pakistan have captured him and are holding him on house arrest in exchange for access to Area 51?

That the Americans and Obama are willing to publically claim he is dead, they'd want to be pretty sure that he is no longer capable of getting a video of himself online or to Al Jazeera with today's newspaper. So chances are he's gone. Who gives a f**k how, an evil man is no more. And let the American's claim it as a win for themselves, they were the people who had 3000 "innocent men, women and children" murdered.

He's been nothing more than a character for quite some time and they've killed him off, I'd wager that Osama the man has been dead for a number of years.

If he was killed years ago, wouldn't Bush have wanted to claim the credit?

I marked undecided because I'm not too bothered about weither or not he was killed...

He was just an agressive terrorist leader, who managed to pull off the biggest act of terrorism...

I think there was a time when it was useful to have him as a boogey man figure.

How do you vote if you think he is dead, but died many years ago as opposed to 2 days ago

There was also a time in the run up to the presidential elections when Bush's approval ratings were on a downward trend that claiming the scalp of OBL would have provided a massive boost.

    Yes

If you think he is dead it doesnt matter if it was a few days ago or months/years ago as the question asked is he dead.

Did he exist in the first place?

Of course it matters. If you think he's dead you must have some inkling about how and when you think he died.

    AH Answer

He's (Bin Laden) due to give a press conference to an Middle Eastern TV station later today to confirm the weekends events. Either that or a pre recorded statement mocking Western Society again.

    Serious answer

Apparently the reason why he was burried at sea was, due to Islamic Law the body has to do dispossed of within 24 of death, no other county would take he, hence the Sea burial.

    AH Conclusion

The Sea Burial means that theres no shrine to him, and all this right before a US Presidential Election campaign.

No, for him it was better that the given character was alive. How else would he justify pumping money into anti-terror war?

The question shouldn't be 'Is Osama Dead?' it should be 'How long has he been dead for?'

I think the question was referring to whether this is a US conspiracy or not, rather than if he's just dead. If he died long ago, then this is a US conspiracy

I'm going to go with Conspiracy Theories again.
