JSA or sign on

i got a letter this morning telling me that my JSB is coming to an end so i can apply for JSA or sign on to keep my prsi contributions in order but receive no money, can i apply for JSA and if i dont pass the means test continue to sign on for entitlements or is it a case of 1 or the other

You should apply for the Jobseekers Allowance. If you are successful, you will automatically be awarded credits while you remain in payment. If you find that you are not eligible because of your means, then at that stage you should sign for credits.
