Thinking about upgrading my Imac thoughts please

    Hi Guys,

I am considering upgrading my IMac to the latest version when they are released later today. The Spec on mine is as follows:

    2010 27inch Imac
8 gig ram (Two 4gb Chips)
2.93GHz Intel Core i7 (quad core)
ATI Radeon HD 5750 with 1GB
    2TB hard drive
    256GB solid-state drive
    Snow Leopard

I think that is it. If I was to advertise the machine on adverts what would be a fair price to ask. It is spotless with no marks at all.

    Thanks
    TCP/IP

    I would guess €1800-2000.

Is there any particular reason you want to upgrade? The only thing the new model has is in addition to yours is the dual Thunderbolt ports and I don't think that is sufficient reason to upgrade - the 2012 models will have integrated Thunderbolt and USB 3 ports.

Thanks Talisman just something I was playing around with in my mind.

Slightly lower spec went here for 1500

I don't see the point unless you need Thunderbolt.

Edit: Noticed Mod: Gadgets - please carry on ;)

Glad you noticed the obsession I have :)

Specing up the new 3.4 Ghz to 8 Gigs of RAM and 2TB HD/265GB SSD it hits over 3 grand. I forgot how much Apple charge for basics like RAM and Drives.

I'd do the same if I could afford it. I just have to slum it with my 3.6Ghz i5 iMac, 2009 Unibody MacBook and customised hacked to bits 2007 Mac Mini media server ;)

Need to fix your description, doesn't match your specs...
    27-inch iMac - Quad Core i7, 4GB RAM, 1TB Hard Disk

    Want, btw.

why not build your own computer? Apple charge huge amounts for outdated hardware.

Get off the mac section of boards and stay where you belong. And their technology is far from "outdated".

Trevor451 - I have built PC plenty of times but the Mac is simply a nicely put together package. I love the mixture of looks and power.

Seriously no need for the trolling. Let me guess, have you even used OSX for more than 20 minutes?

By the way i have both a PC and a Mac

I'm in a similar dilema. How much would I get for my 2010 27 inch iMac?

    Here's the spec.
    Model Identifier: iMac11,3
    Processor Name: Intel Core i3
    Processor Speed: 3.2 GHz
    1TB HDD
    Memory: 4 GB RAM
ATI Radeon HD 5670 512 MB
    Snow Leopard
