When watching the Royal wedding last Friday, I couldn't help but notice that when the Archbishop of Canterbury asked William & Kate, do you take this man/woman to be your lawful wedded . . . .

They both answered with "I WILL" but I always thought it was "I DO"

Can anyone shed any light on this?

He asked the question 'Will you' or 'wilt thou' or something, so the answer is 'I will'.

When it's asked as 'Do you..' then the answer is 'I do'.

    Simple as that really!
