cover letter

    im finishing first year of college soon and i want a job for the summer but ive only ever done work experience so i have no idea what to include on a cover letter. should i make a generic one? or should i tailor it to each job?

    yes. and yes.
    Make a generic template, but tailor it well for each job. Keep it short and relevant.
    There's plenty of tips online for writing cover letters.

    Also, summer jobs are usually got by visiting the place you want to work and asking for a job. Bring a cv (no cover letter required)

    If you send out 50 unsolicited cvs with cover letters, I guarantee you you will be disappointed.
