    Hey,

Am heading to Asia in a few weeks and am bring a small netbook and compact camera.

Will a normal plug converter be all I'll need to make sure those appliances work over there, or will I need some sort of converter?

There are a lot of countries in Asia! Japan is definitely on a different voltage and some places in SE Asia will have different sockets within the same building,

Anyway, here's all you need to know.

Everthing I had worked fine in Thailand, Laos and Vietnam. Which would have only been phone charger and mp3 charger. It seemed to be a combination of the american sockets and the european ones. There was definately one that worked in all the places and think it was the european one.
I remember in the hostel in vietnam someone had a hair dryer that blew up but im not sure of the reason behind it...

    Thanks a million.

Could you recommend an adapter plug that I could get online that will let me plug my items from here into when around S.E Asia?

    Thanks again. :D

I have a few! I think I got the one for Japan in Dublin airport. There's a good selection there.

The best one I have I bought in El Corte Ingles department store in Spain - it's like the Swiss Army Knife of adapters!

    So Mike

You obviously arent depending on the passport office to fly you out after paying for a hotel in dublin a flight to brussells and agreeing to a binding contract? Ye never know it might happen to you too someday

    Wrong thread Id say Mary...

Ignoring Mary's hissy fit and returning to the subject at hand...

OP, the adaptor that whatsyourquota linked to looks the business.
