Paint repair

I know very little about cars...

I got the bonnet of my car keyed the other week by some little .... Anyway, wondering what's the best way to repair it? I waxed it to see if it would make it less noticable but if anything, it's made it more obvious now the colour has been restored. What should I do to repair it? Would it be better to leave it into a garage to do? How much is it likely to cost?

Also, how much would a whole re-spray cost on average? Cos I'm thinking if I just get the bonnet done the rest of the car will look a different colour? It's an old Suzuki Swift.

is the scratch in a lacquer or in the paint? You can try to wet sand the scratch and area around it to take off the depth of the scratch, but that would make the area you've sanded dull so you would have to buff it with a fast cut or 3g compound to bring the gloss back. If the scratch is in the paint all the way to the metal, then you wold have to prime it, paint it and pt the clear coat over it, if you don't have any of the above that would be an expensive DIY. To respray the bonnet will cost around 180E i think. Try youtube there are many videos related this problem there.
