3 places that would be good for this are:

    1) Slovenia - Not expensive, but it has both beaches and climbing. The Julian alps are 1 hour out of Ljubljana, and so is the beach. I've done biking here and it was really nice - although it's possibly still early season for the Slovenian coast. Fly to Venice and bus it from there.
    2) Nice / Cote d'Azur - Famously flashy, a bit pricey but it has a beach, direct flights to Ireland and it backs onto the southern French alps. I'm there right now, there's great road cycling and plenty of alpine sports (via ferratta, paragliding, canyoning...) - for the best climbing though you need to go a few hours west towards Marseille - I've done this before, a group of us got a good, english, instructor for 4 days of great climbing.
    3) Barcalona - famously lively city, 45 minutes drive/train from being in the Pyranees. Never tried it, but it should work!

Switzerland or Sierra Nevada in south of Spain.

Google cycling Bulgaria and you'll find lots of tours that do a 7 day cycling trip type thing. It's around €500/600. I presume the same could be done for cycling in any country, just I've only looking for Bulgaria (but never actually did the cycling unfortunately).

I like the Sierra Nevada, but I get the impression that a lot of the organised tours are for older people? Maybe I’m wrong…
I’m living in Spain and there are loads of fantastic places around, especially for cycling and climbing too, but I’m not sure about organised tours

It’s not Europe, but close…..what about Morocco? Atlas Mountains, Marrakech then relax by the beach? You can definitely do tours there.

I was on a singles holiday in Lanzarote in May. There is a company there that run them all year round. www.charliesholidays.com. It was great fun, and met some really lovely people. I would definitely recommend.

    Hi Plough
I always go to Lanzarote and am in my early thirties. Great place for blokes as there are so much single women there! Loads to do with excursions and stuff so if you dont mind going solo, you will be sorted.

Try On the Go tours, Exodus or Explore...haven't travelled with any, but heard great stuff about them.

Did a safari tour last year and there were loads of singles on it.

You interested in getting away from Europe? From the Irish/ English loud beach scene? Loads more out there.

Think trekking in Morocco, hiking in Nepal, safari in Kenya/ Tanzania, cycling in Asia, touring and diving in Egypt....none have to cost the earth, the most expensive bit will be your flight, and most have nice beaches for a few days to chill at the end.

Maybe if you told us a bit more about your age, gender, interests, budget, etc. people could come up with more suited answers...

    ok,

male, turning 27 soon, about to head into do my thesis for my honours degree and looking to get abroad for 10 - 14 days to clear my head before the last college year starts.
budget is about €1,200 - €1,500. interested in diving (complete novice), fishing, clubbing, swimming at beaches, cycling/hiking i could do no problem and might enjoy it, looking for somewhere hot is a must. really sick of the irish weather.
no real interest in going somewhere that no one speaks english.

    Egypt
    Morocco
    Croatia
    Greek islands

It sounds like you kinda want to do a package holiday type holiday on your own, which is not as easy as doing an organised trek type thing with a group.

Would you consider maybe flying to Croatia, doing a dive course, then heading down the coast to Dubrovnik for a few days maybe? Or doing the same in Egypt and then heading to the pyramids (although more expensive). That way, you will probably meet people on the dive course who you can hang out with for an extra couple of days.

Or else, maybe go to Morocco, tag along on a 4-5 day berber trek and then head to the coast for a few days.

On that budget though, you're best trying to pick somewhere you can fly direct from Ireland to.

North of Italy either, around Lake Garda for an organised cycling trip and again then maybe chill by the lake or head down the coast to relax for a few days.

One Foot Abroad are an Irish company who offer trekking holidays all around Europe and North America, although I think their customer base might be a bit older.
