    Hey

Just tried to start my 07 mondeo and there is not a kick out of it, its a TDCI Zetec and was working great on Friday, havent been driving it over the weekend but on Saturday morning I did go out to it and tried the button on keys and it wouldnt open, now the battery has gone before in the Keys so I just thought it was that and opened with key in door and grabbed something and locked again.

Now I have tried and its not turning or anything, the central locking is not working at all, even if I open the door with key it doesnt open the rest of the door. Would it be the battery? could it really lose that much power from battery over night? I couldnt see anything left on.

Most likely the battery flat. You will probably discover you left lights on. Connect jumper leads and have a look around to see if anything lights up.

it sounds like the battery is flat alright! and yes it could cause it do die off in one night, takes less time in fact!

If yours is the new MK4 Mondeo? They seem to be prone to electrical gremlins. You may have something draining the battery.

My mother had this a few times in her one.

Jump the car and it should start fine.

When you are exiting the car and turning off the lights make sure they actually turn off even if the switch is in the off position they can stay on. You have to jiggle it a bit and the only remedy is a new light switch. The warning buzzer doesn't buzz as the switch is turned to the off position.

That drained hers a few times but we also had to get a software upgrade due to the alternator not charging the battery.

Ended up got AA out, there was less than 2 volts in battery, got it back running and test the battery, AA say it need to be replaced based on the tool they used, still under warranty so no issue:D

Keep an eye out that it's not the alternator.
