    Hi everyone,
im hoping someone else with a 2007 audi A4 Might be able to help me.
I recently purchased this car and Im still getting familiar with it. The other day I was giving a few people a lift and they tried to put the window in the back down but it wouldnt go down.
I discovered a safety switch beside the switches for the electric windows on the drivers side, i pressed the switch but discovered I have to keep my finger on it for the people in the back to be able to put the windows down/up, Im thinking that there must be something wrong with the switch, surely it should stay pressed in? anyone else ever have this problem or know anything about it? Also on the keys there is a button for opening/locking the car and also a button for the boot, the button for the boot doesn't work, I have to manually put the key in and open it, Im also assuming that this button should work? anyone have this problem or know how much it would cost to fix? any help would be very much appreciated:)

Could just be the button is out of range. Happens to my yoke, kinda aim it through the back window.

The battery is probably dead. As for the switch it may be stuck in position. Hold the fob to your head and you get a better range.

if the battery was dead would the locking/unlocking buttons also not be working? They are fine for some reason. no matter how/where i am when i press the button for the boot it doesnt work :-(

the button for boot only works on my a3 if you hold down button for a while.

Get a main dealer to replace the battery if you decide to do so. Those keyfobs are as unreliable as the cars they're made for.

Hold down the key button to open boot.
    Window switch sounds faulty

Does the release button over the number plate or drivers door work?
Could be that the motor in the lock is faulty or even that the two faults are related.

There is a control module that gives hassle on those, worst case scenario is this needs changing.

On some cars, all the doors need to be unlocked before the remote will unlock the boot.

no the release button doesnt work, do you think it would be expensive to change the control module? Im thinking your right, maybe both could be related

The only way to find out is bringing it to a dealer or specialist.
Did you buy the car privately? if not, then you should approach the garage that sold it to you.
