Hi, I was wondering if anyone can tell me about 1st year English in arts and how the results work. For instance, if you fail an exam paper but pass the English year overall do you have to go back and repeat the paper you failed?

Also, is the continuous assessment mark (Attendance and participation in tutorials/essays) counted with exams in a way that it means that you can fail a paper and still pass overall?

Any help would be much appreciated, the English department don't really make these things crystal clear.

I'm not quite sure, but I think that if you pass overall with continuous assessment, but fail an exam, you still have to repeat. I'm also wondering this in regards to geography. But as far as i know, if you fail, you must repeat.

Also as far as I know, if you fail an essay you will have to redo the essay (unless there is a best out of whatever number system?)
