Malaga/Marbella

Hi all

I am planning a holiday in Malaga for myself an my GF for 7 days in June. Flights are booked and now I am trying to decide which area to stay.
We would like to avoid the majority of the booze cruise crowd while at the same time have a good nightlife with nice restaurants and bars. The big thing for us is a nice clean apartment complex with a good pool as we will probably spend most of our days here. We both have stressful jobs and really just want to rewind.
From googling so far Marbella and Torremolinos have both been recommended. Does anyone have any experience or recommend anywhere else

I dnt recommend Torremolinos for a peaceful holiday for a couple from what ive heard. Read - http://www.nytimes.com/1988/09/03/world/torremolinos-journal-spain-s-new-cry-shove-off-mate.html

For apartments with pool in Malaga you can check - http://roomsnet.com/malaga_hotels/apartments_in_malaga-s1822-d217.html. They have very good rates & well known for Spain hotels....

Thanks nnulk. From what I can see Torremolinos has its good areas and bad. Might be better to avoid though. We do want a good nightlife, just not a crasy session. We are both 30, but think we are over it to be honest. Done it and have the scars to prove it:D

Marbella should be fine, it is a bit pricey though

We like Fuengirola/Los Boliches. Nice beaches, lots of restaurants, waterpark, Bioparc(zoo), good bus/train connections, and shops for herself to explore.
