    Hi guys,

I've go t a job interview as Sales Assistant in Champion Sports tomorrow.
Just wondering what do I wear? Has anyone ever had as job like this perhaps and what did you wear? I'm stuck between tracksuit, suit and tie or just well dressed with jeans and a casual shirt (looks respectable)
    Thanks

  • Suit pants, shoes, shirt with no tie is a happier middle ground than jeans.

Although, going in a suit will do you no harm whatsoever.
Going in a tracksuit is a terrible idea.

My first job interview was for a cinema, I wore a suit and tie, I got the job before I'd even spoken (worked there for 2.5 years and was told this by the manager that interviewed me that day!)

    no suit jacket then?

  • Like I said, I'd have no problem wearing a full suit.

But if you're worried that you're overdressed (you wont be), then lose the tie.

Jacket is personal preference. Personally feel very confident in a suit, and think that it can help keep a professional tone.

I would possibly go with suit with no tie but have the jacket.

At the very least wear proper pants, shirt & tie. If you have a suit definitely wear it.

I dont think that wearing jeans is a problem as long as they are smart and you wear shoes with them as well as an ironed shirt and jacket. You cannot go wrong wearing a suit but if you are going to be uncomfortable in it then I would'nt worry to much about it. Whatever you do, DO NOT wear a tracksuit with runners. Good luck with interview.

For me jeans is a big no-no for an interview. I don't think you really can be overdressed for most interviews. Dressing well is a sign that you actually care about getting a job.
I have one fancy dress that I always wore for interviews. Felt weird at first but got me the job.

OP , it may be a sports store but under no circumstances think that a tracksuit is suitable for an interview there - it is not.

Slacks/Trousers, shirt and tie. I think a full suit would probably be a little over the top.

If in doubt, suit and tie.

Stear clear of tracksuit / jeans always.

Had an interview with a similar type of store a few years back, slacks, shirt and shoes done the job.;)
