what should my contribution be??

hi, im receieving RA as a single parent of one child. my contribution towards my rent is 115euro a week towards rent of 1000euro. is this right or should i be paying less. really struggling every month to pay the rent. what is the usual amount a single parnent of one contributes?? thanks.

Hi

It depends on the area you live in? so for example the threshold for parts of dublin for one parent with child is 930 euros- so welfare would pay up to that and you would make difference up to 1000 euros. If you are in- say carlow the threshold is only 600. Regardless it seems you are paying way to much on your own with a child? But the rate also depends on all other incomes, you need to go back to local welfare officer and have them go over all your means.
