    Who could possibly stand against him for president next year now? The only person that could beat him is maybe the guy who pulled the trigger

    And there's a pretty good chance he'll be under 35!

    I think it'll help alright but it's not going to make him invincible. Regardless of something like this, the sort of person that cares a lot about retribution for terrorism and focusses on homeland security above all else is always going to be inclined more towards the Republicans. One show of strength by a Dem president isn't going to convince such a voter that the Dems aren't all lily-livered commie hippies. <Not my thoughts obviously, but probably the thoughts of a pretty large constituency in the US>
