In case you have not heard, Obama is to announce shortly that Osama Bin Laden is confirmed dead and that his remains are in US custody.

He has not spoken yet, however, the news outlets are already confirming the stories.

Obama was scheduled to speak on this at 10:30 PM Eastern Standard Time.

At that time, strange messages began appearing on sites such as CNN stating, to the effect: "President to speak at 10:30 Topic Not Announced."

I don't think I have ever heard or seen such I think. Thus, I thought it would be important.

Still have not heard how they did it. All they are saying now is that it was a US military action and that the US has taken responsibility.

Early reports was that it was a drone attack.

Timing is somewhat interesting. 8th Anniversary of the infamous "mission accomplished."

Yes what a stupid choice, I'm sure the incredibly stupid lads in Al-Qaeda wouldn't have noticed Bin Laden was gone, once they did I assume they'd keep their mouth shut as well eh?

I think that according to Muslim beliefs they have top be buried before the dawn after they die.

Also, dumping the body in the sea means there isn't a site where fanatics can go and worship him. The Soviets had the same thinking when they got their hands on Hitler's body.
