Some people seem to think they have a bad reputation, I don't know. I have dealt with them before when I had domestic disputes and they were OK.

But what percentage of them would accept a bribe? Like it they were giving you a penalty point for speeding and you offered them €70 to let you go. Or maybe for big time dealers bringing in many kilo's of cocaine/heroine.

I heard a girl got pulled over for speeding - the Garda asked her out on a date - she said yeah and didnt get the ticket - so all corrupt in my opinion

I've never seen it or heard of it.

So I'd guess not very prevalent.

Third hand stories prove nothing, what is needed is someone brave (or stupid) enough to tell of first hand experience.

That's a pretty wide survey you did there. I saw some footage of Barack Obama on another thread, which, in my opinion, means all American Presidents have been black. ;)

The gardai arent corrupt in the way that they accept bribes for small offences. but they accept overtime to act as a private security service and to enforce one law over another. e.g. not inspecting suspected shannon CIA rendition flights. corrib pipeline, etc.
