06 Superb, grating/squeeking when turning left

    Help appreciated on this please.
06 diesel superb. Today it started letting a high pitched metallic grating from the front end when turning left.At slower speed its more like a rubbing, but still there nonetheless. No noise is heard on right turn, or when going straight. It seems to be louder the sharper the turn and sounds to me to be coming from the drivers side.
Just serviced in dealer last week and two new front tyres fitted, don't know if this would affect it or not.
Any ideas on what this could be?
    Thanks

If your rear wheels are wider than your front wheels, and the garage rotated them, they're probably rubbing against the arches.

Why would a front wheel drive car have wider wheels on the rear?

@OP, 1st, check the wheel is tight. Then try jacking the car up with the wheel turned whichever way you hear the noise and spin the wheel by hand to listen for where the noise is coming from.

Or drop it in to any reputable garage, they shouldn't charge anything to check the problem.

I'd say its a CV boot which is worn out and the CV joint is exposed, either CV joint need lube and boot or a ball-bearing.

Symptoms described don't suggest CV boot/joint to me.

Too much of a coincidence that noise appeared after new tyres fitted tbh.

If it is a cv joint, lube won't fix it, once a cv joint starts making noise It's needing replacing. If its the wheel bearing it would rumble and be more prevalent at speed.

Had a similar noise coming from my Accord a few months ago - needed brake pads, and almost discs as I'd left it so long.

Metallic scraping noise was the pad wear indicator scraping the disc. Was intermittent and generally while turning right. Braking power wasn't affected though which is why it took me a while to get someone to look at it.
