Hey lads I built a Shuttle Pc and well built it and left it there its has a savage

    Spec :

    8 Gig Ram.

    2.70 Ghz Dual Core Processor.

Here's my problem I built it but because I dont have much experence with gaming games and pc gaming I put off buying a card when I last looked into buying one i only wanted this card for playing my personal mkv hd climbing videos.

But now I am getting back to buying the card and I want to use it for gaming now so I need help deciding which card to buy which is best.

Is pixmania the best to buy a graphics card off or better sites ?

Had my eye on these cards....

I need a silent card with no fan just the heatsink

I wouldnt recommend that card, it will struggle with modern games

I would strongly recommend the 6670 - brand new, low profile, very very low power draw - however most are two slots wide

if you dont have the space pick up the little brother 6650 - should be fine

How many watts is your power supply unit and what make is it?

theres an ATI 6670 on pixmania for 66 euros, two slots wide

Who are the best sites to buy off ?

I do not want a fan on the card cause its a silent pc and i want to keep it that way with just a heatsink on it.

What games will the 6670 card take for example ?

Does it have to be 6670 ?

Cause I seen this one http://www.pixmania.ie/ie/uk/9736047/art/asus/radeon-hd-6450-1-gb-gddr3.html

Like Im not into games that much but if I wanted to partake in it id like the option you know what I mean

Pixmania has been a bit of a dodgey retailer for some time.

The main problem you will have with your selection is the fact that you don't want a GPU with a fan. That will greatly effect the price/performance and tbh playing any graphically intensive games on a fanless GPU is not advised.

    What we need to know to be able to help you is;

    1. Your monitors resolution and the resolution you want to play the games on
    2. What games do you have in mind
    3. What Power Supply do you have ie Wattage and Make(full model name would be ideal)
    4. What is your budget

I do not really care about the price i just want this being a powerful mother of all yes I just quoted supernatural of crap.

If its going to be this much bother going for a games one i;ll just leave it and go for one that plays 1080p graphics I will be using it for my 1080p 46 inch tv.

I originally only wanted it for watching my hd climbing videos.

I just thought i would go on here and see if I could get advice on a gaming card as least I would have a fall back to gaming as well as videos.

    No Budget

Games no idea call of duty, battlefield, command and conquer,

its a powerful power supply not sure the make.

Who else is there other then pixmania

Ignore what i said about 6650 only exists for laptops

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-Radeon-PCI-Express-Graphics-90-C1CP80-L0UAN0BZ/dp/B004LZIV2E/ref=sr_1_20?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1304702752&sr=1-20

That'll just about run games, but its two slots wide, if you can fit it, then it'll be a good bit faster than the 210

    other irish sites
    komplett.ie
    dabs.ie
    elara.ie

type in silent pci or fanless pci

It is going to be tough to find anything decent for games with no fan, manufacturers would not want to run the risk of failure due to heat.

You can always get a aftermarket cooling system from the likes of Zalman which provides fanless cooling but unless your case is optimised very efficently for airflow you might have issues.

    Other option is watercooling.

If it is just for playing 1080p then most cards should do just fine.

I understand the whole "silent pc" crack, but it should all be within reason.

Any card with a fan would wipe the floor with the silent gpu's. And tbh when you switch on your pc you don't sit there and listen to it's fans. You use media, listen to music and such.

I've never been in a situation where the noise from any pc I'm using hasn't simply become background noise. And tbh, my pc, is pretty loud and has cheap ass fans.

You should really just get a gpu with a fan, it will increase your overall enjoyment of the pc.
