Skits on Hiphop Albums

Does anybody actually like these? I don't think I've ever heard one that made me laugh. Worst offender is the otherwise brilliant Aquemini by Outkast, since the skits are on the same tracks as the songs, so you can't even delete them.

There are a handful of classic ones (the ones on The Infamous are fun) but I usually get to dislike them pretty quickly.

I like the ones that MF Doom does. They're more of an instrumental interlude with strange dialogue. The ones on Vaudeville Villain are cool as well you an 'open mic night' with people dropping wack verses

Generally i dont like them, but there are exceptions.

There are some that join the former and next song, some that open up for the next song, i guess when they are done cleverly they make sence. Some are utterly ridiculous. Who wants to hear Biggie getting busy?

On Mecca and The Soul Brother by Pete Rock and CL Smooth, there are some excellent interludes, little snippets of beats that people would kill to have.
Ever realise how dope the little intro to T.R.O.Y. is?

Generally not keen, and Outkast are up with the worst offenders, especially that tune. But as Boom Bap said, Pete Rock's instrumental skits are quality. Pretty sure DJ Muggs had a few good ones but cant remember any specifics, instrumental though.

Redman has some really funny ones. Cypress hill had good ones too.

Not the biggest fan of skits but I really liked the 'Ghost Weed' series of skits off De La Soul's Art Official Intelligence: Mosaic Thump album, where MC's at a cypher smoke 'Ghost Weed' and their voices gradually morph into famous rappers like Pharoahe Monch, Phife Dawg & Black Though. Funny shít :D

I generally don't like skits, but...

The skits on Ready to Die nearly ruined the album for me. There really was no need to add the sounds of a blowjob at the end of Respect.

Some are funny, some are interesting, some are pointless, some are plain retarded. I guess it's six of one and half a dozen of the other.

J5 had a good one on the Quality Control album going into Contribution where one of the members' parents (could be Zaakir) speak about that guy growing up. Missy Elliot had some good ones on Under Construction. Big Rube has had a few good ones on OutKast albums. Rae and Ghostface talking about Ready to Die was another good one. Also, the excerpts from the interview Wu did on 36 Chambers.

I can think of dozens of stupid ones. The hydro drops one after Come Get Me by Nas, the Biggie blowjob, a lot of Kanye West ones, some of the Snoop Dogg ones, some Busta Rhymes ones. I could go on and on.
