Another Waterford man tearing it up on the big stage. What a county.

Yeah, nice goal in the last minute :)

More evidence that the SPL has terrible defenders

Nice goal but if they weren't 3-1 down in the 93rd minute I can't help but think the defenders would have put up more of a fight.

I always laugh at the patronising tone like the above which puts good goals in the SPL down to crap defending. If you are that way inclined, you can argue that most goals are the result of crap defending, bet you don't argue that!!

He scored a belter for Sunderland before too, one of the best goals I've seen at the Stadium of Light, but he's still a spineless coward with a heart the size of a pea.

An awful player who I still really can't believe we managed to receive £1.5m for. To think he was getting over £20,000 at Sunderland is an absolute disgrace and despite never playing he was happy enough to play reserve team football for the privilege.

He came inside one player and walked by the other, nothing that special about it really.

Alot of goals are down to bad defending. This goal is evidence of bad defending. Taken very well though.

You can find defensive faults in every goal ever.

It's a good goal but there defending is clearly very poor. The reference to Messi is ****ing comedy of the highest degree.

Ability wise, he would be right up there with the likes of Kevin Doyle. His attitude is woeful.

...and that's exactly what is was meant to be.

If he was anyway decent he wouldn't be in the f**king SPL. He didn't make the cut at f**king Sunderland for f**k sake.

How did you get the vid up so quickly?

It was obviously tongue in cheek. Murphy has hardly featured this season and isn't thought too highly of by Celtic fans.

Any feat acheived in the SPL has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Celtic and Rangers are not great, some others are poor, and the rest are just awful. UEFA coefficient has it rated lower than the Belarussian league each of the last 3 years...

Apologies. Took your point up wrong.

What are you shi*ing on about. SPL this year is ranked 15th, Belarus is 23rd, last season it was 28th.

It's not that good. Certainly not "Messi" like. Taking things into context it's just a good goal.

I'm surprised he has actually done so well, fair play to him.
I saw him play most of his games in Waterford's cup final season, thought he was a bit of a donkey.

I think you'll find any player who plays in SPL is considerably better than your average footballer, such a stupid ****ing atitiude to have.

Rangers and Celtic have consistently shown themselves to be equivalent to Championship level tbh. Look at Kris Commons

    Lol.

    Wiki....
On 1 May 2011, Murphy scored his first goal at Celtic Park in a 4-1 victory against Dundee United, transforming into Lionel Messi before smashing the ball past Dušan Perniš.

It was a nice goal. If it was Andy Carroll or Wayne rooney scoring a similar goal for their clubs it would get a lot more praise

He just scored this a few minutes ago - cracker!

Sure, but could he do it on a wet Wednesday evening in Stoke?

Had numerous chances at Sunderland and did diddly squat.

Dont be suprised cos he hasnt actually done well at all and has barely seen any game time with Celtic, this thread was intended to be sarcastic but of course the haters couldnt wait to get their digs in

And as for the previous comment that their are no good players in the SPL well that is priceless, goodman yourself, not one for educating the clueless but i'll just give you three little clues and you can check them out and see if you still share that view 1. Kayal 2. Izzaguire 3. Mc Gregor

I think that Celtic and Rangers would finish about 13 or 14 in the premiership, mainly due to their home form.

Except they haven't, and their European results and performance bear this out.

Wouldn't be far off the mark with the squad at the moment. Give us the Sky money for a few seasons though and we'd be challenging for the CL spots.

Anyways, I've a feeling this has been done before...

Charlie Adam didn't do much in the SPL, now he's tearing up the EPL.

It's all speculation anyway but you're right there's three players that would make most Premiership teams imo.

If they are any good they will be in the Premier league or other top league. Accept it tbh any decent player in any small league will eventually go to a bigger team, if they dont well a lot of people assume they are not good enough.
