    Hi all,
question for those in the know...what time would we need to leave Newcastle to reach Portmagee to catch a boat to the Skelligs at 10am# on Tuesday the 10th? What route should we take?

    Cheers.

    Route:
    N7/M7 from Rathcoole to Limerick,
    M20 to Patrickswell
    N21 to Castleisland
N23 to Farranfore, turn left to Killarney, then soon right on R561 to Castlemaine
N70 to Killorglin and then Cahirciveen
soon after Cahirciveen turn right onto R565 to Portmagee.

Time - depending on driver etc but approx 3 hours and a little to Castleisland and another 1.5 hours max to Portmagee.
Depending on weather etc therefore you'd need to leave by about 5.30 and allow some time for stops, parking your car etc etc.

Thanks paul, looks like we'll take your suggested route but stay in a B&B the night before, somewhere nearby. It's too early to be gettin out of bed ;)
