maxi dresses for petites

im looking for a dress to go to a wedding in the summer
id love to wear a maxi dress but im 5ft 2 or so
does maxis suit shorter people and where is best to buy them

Wallis have a few in their petite collection. I wore one last summer & I'm 5'3.

Just don't get one that gathers under the bust, they seem to make everyone look bigger than they are.

I take up everything - I'm 4'11'' - and Maxi dresses are the same. I would go for one that has an empire line, or some kind of differentiation between the bust and the rest of the dress, and out comes the sewing machine to sort out the length! Anything that has a defined waist (unless you are super slim) just emphasises how short the bottom half is.
