Does anyone ever think about them?

Do they have the internet and if so does it go -

    Krrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrmhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhssqqeeeeeeeeeee
    eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeesqarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

several times before getting a connection?

Are there any Islanders on boards? Whats it like living on a small rock in a gale?

Don't be stupid, they have broadband by ferry these days.

TBH, the British probably think the same about us: silly, backward island. No internetz and always gale force wind.

The ones around Galway have wireless links via the Galway community wireless thing anyway. Though I have no idea how reliable they are.

It's a symmetric link so their internet is actually better than most of us who have only enough bandwidth to upload our credit card details but plenty of download.

I dunno about other islands except that Tory has decent 3G coverage, just shame that it's Vodafone.

The islands are lovely to visit and personally I wouldn't really care if they have internet or not. Its nice to be away from it all

I think Inishbofin has the same type of connection as myself. A wireless radio broadband type of thing. Works well enough for me. Lighthouse are the company that provide it.

I read in a local paper that Clare Island has excellent broadband. They used to have a GAA club until a year or two ago, opposing teams had to get the ferry out to them.
