90 - 100hp ish tractor

Looking for a tractor around the 100hp ish range - (80to 90 would be fine)

4wd would be good, need it to operate a loader.... without straining itself!

looked at a massey 390 4wd (94 - approx 8k hrs if u can believe it) with quicke loader approx 20k

likewise massey 390t 4wd (96 - 8k hrs also) no loader approx 18k - loader would cost around 2-3k second hand whenever one comes up

know these are a good yard tractor and good all rounder but this sort of money for 15 year old tractors seems over the top to me. (supply and demand I suppose tho)

basically I'm looking for something to shift round bales, do a bit of topping, do a bit of mowing and muck spreading + miscellaneous odd jobs and Ive been looking at cheaper alternatives and newer alternatives in the same price ranges as the 390/390t

I'm thinking of a New Holland tl90 (02 - 3k hrs) with loader for 24k...seems to make more sense -

and I'm seeimg John Deere 6310 (01 various low hrs if u can believe it) coming in around the 10k mark that seem better value - know the 10 series had problems but @ 10 k less for a 4-5 yrs younger tractor??? I dunno...I'm tempted

know this sort of thing has probably been done to death but would appreciate any help people could give as the more I look the more confused I'm getting

at the end of the day tho would like to get out spending around the 17-18k mark with a loader but could be tempted to part with more - what would ye go for if you wanted a good value, reliable, solid machine and didn't care too much about electronic gizmos with some sort of a resale value

Agree with you that the MF 390 are way overpriced for what you get and its 15 years old. I would go instead for an MF 3085 or 3075, get one of the 16 speed ones. These are a much nicer cab and a good tractor. You should get a good clean once for between 8 - 10k. Buy one without a loader, and get your loader separtely as then at least it has less chance of having done alot of loader work. Also the Renault 106.54 are very good, around 100 hp, really good engine and no electrics, should get a good one for between 9 - 12k. A 10 or 12 year old Same or Lamborghini are reasonable money and a good tractor too if you get a clean one and mind well. Good luck with your search.

We brought in an MF 4345 02 with 2k hrs with loader & new 5ft grab from the UK 2 years ago for 25k everything cleared in the yard (incl a day over to look at a few and shipment back etc). The 4345 is the replacement model for the MF4245 which in turn replaced the MF390 in 1998. We've found it an excellent tractor to date and considering that 390's in Ireland at the time were making 20k with loaders spending 5k extra and getting a 10year fresher tractor with handy hours made much more sense for us. (The old fella at home had been looking at a the time of getting a 390 or 390T also). I would think you'd get them a bit cheaper now but haven't been looking to be honest
