    Do you have an iphone?

If so you may have updates for e-mails etc turned on. it checks for mail every 15 mins

could be something running in the background as you can have multiple apps open at the same time. do you use the net on the road or anything.

Also are you sure your properly connected to wifi at home?

Definately connected ok to wifi at home. May have left apps running in the background but i thought that they froze or paused in the background so as not to use up data.

4GB is an awful lot. I'd be inclined to think you might have lost your wifi connection for a while without releasing it. You need to go through your apps and see what ones could have used that much data so quickly. Do watch a lot of video on your phone?

Rarely watch video on the phone TBH. Wifi is always on and it automatically connects to it.

Have you synced with iTunes recently?

To me it looks like a bug. If you only had a couple hundred Meg only a couple of days ago and all of a sudden you have 4 gig+ you would have noticed your battery being hammered.

    I'd start with a re-mortgage.......and go from there ;)

Just found a link on another site about this. Might help if someone has the same problem. It seems that it is a bug on the iphone 4 and has happened to a lot of people.

Thats interesting. I had a similar problem in that about Christmas time I looked at the meter and since that July I had used 8GB. Which was frankly impossible (I used at most 100 - 300MB per month with Meteor). So I'd imagine its just a fault.
