Nah nowhere near the best. Scum was class. Looking after jojo was excellent but I think that was a 4 part series and not a film just when I downloaded it it was all in the one continuous file.

'the treaty' pisses on michael collins. (not leterally)

Brendan Gleeson as the bigfella FTW.

    best irish movie.

'About Adam' because it's it's the only Irish film ever made that isn't all about being set in Ireland.

As a perfect example of a UK/Irish film i would have to suggest In Bruges.

So In Bruges was huge in the U.S???

even tho they needed subtitles for trainspotting in america, it was 1 of the biggest and highly rated films over there in the 90's

Very good film allright, trying to get through the book now actually - this Trainspotting 2 then, will it be based on the "Porno" novel by Welsh?

all I can remember from trainspotting is spud flinging shit everywhere, the 'electrical tin-can opener' song, and the floor opening up and swallowing him

I can remember MUCH more from Lock Stock and pretty sure I laughed much more and longer during it too

shallow grave was pretty good too

I seen a part of that film Scum yeeears ago. I think I was like eight or something. Went outside and played football instead. Since then I've always wanted to see it and when we first got the Internet it was one of the first things I tried to find but to no avail as I couldn't remember the name or enough details.

You, my good sir, have helped me find the film I wanted to watch 11 years ago (I'm 19 now). I shall do so illegally online now. Thank you. *tips hat*

Thread title fail, Trainspotting could well be the best UK/NewZealand film ever made using your logic OP.

Pretty certain that Braveheart is in fact an American film, they just filmed it in the UK and Ireland.

Braveheart is no more a British film than Saving Private Ryan is an Irish one

Some to consider (these have UK/Ireland listed under 'Country' on IMDB):

    Life of Brian
    Man on Wire
    Withnail & I
    Riff-Raff
    In the Loop
    Dead Man's Shoes
    Wicker Man, The
    Third Man, The
    Fish Tank
    My Summer of Love
    Moon
    Sweet Sixteen
    Croupier
    Threads
    Boy A
    Code 46
    Sexy Beast
    Ghost Writer, The

There's some others out there, like The Terminator for example, that has UK/USA as the country but I'm not sure if it's ever classified as a UK film?

How is it the best Uk Big / Irish ? where you getting the Irish from.

I was in Edinburgh recently and we went by the flats where they filmed it on the tour bus.

    Children Of Men.

Trainspotting is the best movie ever made for me also. I like a lot of movies, but hands down I can watch trainspotting over and over again.

At uni it simply became my going out movie...
At this stage I could almost do the dialogue from start to finish.

    "Right nobody move!!!"

This is a pointless list thread whose only topic of discussion is why the OP thinks Trainspotting is an Irish film. I'm locking this now.
