i primarily use opera mini on my DHD, but occasionally i like to use the stock browser if i need any good flash support, but when using the stock browser, loading a page takes ages as it keep stopping and asking me what browser i want to complete the action with, and to set as default.

i dont want to set either as the default as then it becomes impossible to use the other browser without it routing to the default browser. how can i keep them separate as you would on a PC or something? and to get that stupid box to go away?

i hope you understand what i mean.

on a side note, my DHD just deleted all my texts for the first time. FFS.

on a happy note, its being reported that android now has more free apps than iOS! some bragging rights where its due.

Set stock as default and put shortcuts to the others on your home screen?

It's not possible for you to use multiple browsers without one as default or that little action box to come up. It's either or. So you're best off just sticking to one browser and keep it that. I recommend Miren Browser as a good browser btw, it's fantastic.

For the SMS deletion, to avoid it in future download an app from the market called 'SMS Backup+', it backs all your texts up to Gmail in a folder so they're easy to sync back down etc. if your DHD decides to delete them again. It also does regular backups by default (or in settings) so you don't have to be backing them up yourself, the app does it. (The icon in the market is the stock messaging (green box w/ smiley face) icon and a gmail icon)

Tbh, the whole free apps thing, I have a HD2 running 2.3.3 gingerbread and an iPhone 4 and comparing both marketplaces, I have to say that the Apple one is much better. Most of the free android apps are sh*te and filled with ads and usually just 'lite' versions of the free apps. The UI is usually a bit sucky too, on iOS they seem like they're of better quality. Oh well, I guess they're all free at the end of the day.
