    Hope someone can help here.

    Hotpoint wms38 (8 years old)

I pu a wash on and the machine is fine for 10 minutes, then it stops and 4 lights come on and stay on. Nothing else happens.

I have tried all differents washes and spins and the drum is not moving. Could bushes cause this, or is it fatal, the drum was replaced under warranty 5 years ago

hiya, the wash, rinse, spin and final spin lights. i have the back off it now and the belts are fine, drum and motor move. i was speaking to a repair centre and they said it could be the motor or a module board.

both are about 110 quid each + callout + fitting. my machine is 10 years old and had the drum changed under warranty in 2006

i think i may just buy a new one

It sounds like brushes/motor/board to me
If you could have a look at the brushes ,
Or if you could take out the motor and bring it to ur local repair shop
And get them to check the brushes for you
If the brushes were gone it should cost around €20/30.

Thanks for reply, but I bought a new one today.

I wasn't sure which had gone without getting a call out.
Either way it will cost about 150 to fix the board or the motor and as its 10 years old its not worth it.
