Dreambox DM 800 which Image is best.

Which image is the best for the DM800 HD?
I ask because I am running Nabilosat BH 12 and I have read that Nabilosat and Dream Elite images are not supported any more.
A problem that I have with my Nabilosat image is that if I manually add plugins it can crash the system which then needs an image reflash. Because of this I cannot add new skins/addons etc.

I origionally went with nabilosat for the epg and that it supports usb tv tuner but if I cant add any plugins or skins,

Is there a better image?


Any Advice appreciated.

Thought id bring this old thread up as i want to ask the same question. I myself am running BH V12, having a few issues with it recently and want to re flash. What with the all the talk of sims etc i dont really know what image to flash my 800 with? As far as i know its a clone.

I have no problems flashing a DM500, but this 800 yoke is a bit more complicated.

If your clone has a SIM 201 card. (Tells you on lcd screen when booting) this image is a super clean image. ALL plugins work with it. It is the open pli image with drivers uptodate to 3rd Sept 2011. Just download crossepg from plugins menu and your good to go.

This image is a 100% build image from OpenPLi source, it uses patched drivers which will run all plugins without patching.
Only working on sim201/sim210 boxes !

Whats with all the sim201#75, sim201#76 etc etc?

Would it be best for me to flash via dreamup and a serial cable or would the ethernet connection be safe enough?

I would flash with dreamup. The pli image will update ur bootloader to latest version. Plus also update your drivers. Plugins and green button will give you access to ALL you want as well.

ok, i may well take the plunge tomorrow. thanks for your advice. Perhaps i should back this image up incase it all goes wrong?

The #75, #76 is your bootloader version. You better make sure the image you got will run under those versions. It's not a big deal as you can flash the image then flash the bootloader afterwards (before rebooting). I would take a look at DreamboxUK's latest DM image. They are getting a lot of good reviews - I am still on DreamElite on my last remaining DM800 and its running fine.

how do i check the bootloader version then? Haven't been able to play with the 800 yet as the Wife and child is watching stuff
