Sick to death of country life

Im 22, I live in the country and this week (like every other week) I'll be preparing crops, looking after livestock.

And then at the weekend me and my mates will head out around the fields and take the guns and do some shooting. THen later in the evening me and the father might take the boat out down the lake and go for some fishing. Or I might take my little sister and the dogs down to the lake and have a picnic and if the weathers good we might even go for a swim. And the height of excitement will be to take one of the horses and just run as far and fast I can through the fields hoping that I might run away from it all. And thats my life.

I want to go to the city. I want to go out every weekend get hammered drunk. Lots of one night stands. And spend my money like theirs no tomorrow. In the city life is just so much better. Its all about the weekend.. and you have lots of friends. You can eat all the junk food you want. You can work in a crappy job with a crap boss and not have to worry about work after 6 clock. And when you clock off on friday thats you free until monday morning.

Ive tried going to Dublin a few times but I cant fit in. One guy I just asked him for the time and he said "thats me ar$e of talk". I was only trying to start a conversation not a row. For the most part Im just standing in the street watching all these people pass me by, and when I try to talk to anyone they just tell me to get lost.

Im so crap at this I cant even make friends online.

Ok, first off, to me, you have a pretty sweet life, hate working in Dublin myself and race home to the country life every weekend.

But I can see where your coming from, I can only imagine it has gotten fairly tedious.

As for the whole meeting people pon the streets of Dublin, probably not the best way to go about it.

Have you tried getting your mates to go out in Dublin?

Yeah it might sound sweet but it really isnt. Every weekend since as long as I can remember its just fishing and horse riding, fishing and shooting, shooting and horse riding, horse riding and sailing, shooting and sailing, fishing and more fishing. It just never stops. I really want to go out and do something different.

I didnt really want to say right of the bat, but one of the reasons I want to get in with the city life is the friends and easy girls. Out all my friends, I dont feel like any of them are real friends. I couldnt say this stuff about how I feel to them. With them its more like a group of people who I just do things with.

This isnt something I can talk to my friends about. It would be like telling them I fancied their mother or something.

Like I said I tried going it alone. No matter how many times I try to start a conversation with someone it just never works. I tried everything from "nice weather" to "got the time"...

If you could just point me in the direction of a friendly pub/club where I can go in on my own and not end up sitting alone in a corner, a pub where Id be welcomed... well then that would be gold.

And the other guys who thinks Im trolling... what do you want me to say? I told you my story, and if that sounds like Im trolling then Im sorry but thats the way it is.

Motley Crue warned for failing to read the big sticky at the top of the forum HERE.

As per the forum rules, if you have an issue with a post or poster then use the report function rather than dragging the thread off-topic with pointless accusations.

    Many thanks

Are you an aristocrat? I mean, do you not have to work for your money?

If you have all these opportunities, I cannot see why you cannot do something with them. Compete the horses, set up a rural business, go to university, get a job in the city, join a sports club, go abroad to work, do something. The world is your oyster. Do you really need a recommendation of a pub in order to move your own life on?

DeadMoney, ignoring a mod warning just to reiterate a point that got someone else a warning is just silly - infracted.
