    12.422
    H
    27.5
    2/3

    /\ That's the usual code for 5USA and 5*.

On tuning them in, I'm getting a program not available message on my SKYHD box.
My FTA box isn't picking her up at all though

I guess this must have been a minor blip on the part of FIVE?
That's provided the OP isn't just pulling our chain here, lol.

    Hiya...

As far as I know,,you can no longer pick up the fta channels on the sky HD boxes.
I think it was an update that sky done last november, and it knocked off the fta's from those boxes.

I'm open to correction on that though.

I think you're confusing this with the IRISH EPG issue.

You're partially correct in so far as, with the Irish EPG being locked to the box, you don't get the fta epg.
However, all the fta channels can still be tuned in under the ''OTHER CHANNELS'' feature.

That has no bearing on this 5USA and ch5hd issue though.
The problem here is, that while you can technically tune them in, you can't actually watch anything because they are still scrambled and not fta.
Although giving the op the benefit of the doubt, perhaps there was a short fta showing earlier today.

You mean a UK FTV card?
AFAIK, yes. That bypasses all the IRISH EPG locking nonsense.

Darn FIVE bigwigs, teasing us like that. Booooooooooo.

Perhaps they are just doing a bit of testing hopefully before they do make the switch to freesat/fta.

I would have thought Ch5 would have wanted to maximise their covergage of Big Brother later this year to the Irish audience.

No doubt they will want to use channel 5 for regular BB and Fiver for BBLB type programmes.

Only time will tell i suppose.

They don't currently sell ads to Ireland, hence there is no advantage to them in doing this...

In the past they have had ZERO interest in being available in Ireland. Probably due rights complications.

They could always sell the BB rights to TV3/3e and make more that way.
