    Hi!

Just wanted to get advice from people I`m mixed race so I`m dark olive skinned something like Kim Kardashians/ Nicole Scherzingers colouring. What colours should I wear, what do you thinks looks good on girls with this colouring?

Feel like I never really found my clothes identity, I`m always changing my mind going from crazy brights to neutrals, thinking what I should wear. I wish I could get my style straight and just have a palette that I stick to!

White is always nice on darker skin, red, some pinks, browns/caramels/neutrals with gold accessories, some greens too.

My aunt is mixed race and when she wanted a makeover she let me tell her all the shades to buy, I love dressing her because I'm pale with dark hair so dressing her in mustards and greens was so much fun for me because I can't wear them!

But there's no need to stick with one group of colours, if you want bright ones wear them and then if you want neutrals the next day wear them! :)

Actually strangely personally I'd say the same colours which look good on very pale girls! :)

Really deep jewel colours, like emerald greens and deeps violets and electric blues etc

I'd stay away from any pastel colours, baby pink and blues etc

White would look really good too imho

Thanks! White is a big scary been thinking about giving white jeans a go but I`m size 14 so em.....not sure yet still losing weight if I got down to a 12 I`d be a wee bit more confident. fghijkl I think you`ve hit the nail on the head- people with real ivory skin seem to be somehow similar like in winter when I go paler and if I`m sick ivory blends straight in to my skin.

Yellow is my favourite colour on tanned skin. Absolutely LOVE during the summer when I can wear it. I know its not everyones cup of tae, but on the right skin tone a simple yellow shift dress can be the nicest thing going imo

Sharp, stark and clear colours... White, black, navy blue, red and shocking pink all go well with olive complexions. For lighter colors, wear icy tones rather than pastels. Avoid subdued tones like beige, orange and gold..

I don`t really wear red often a friend told me once it made me look like a "lady of the night" ...... I don`t want to come accross as "sexy" I like cute.

  • I'm probably a bit lighter than you, but I'm olive skinned and the best colour for me is teal. I always get compliments when I wear that colour. Navy looks awful on me, makes me look all washed out and sallow, but if you were darker it could look OK. White is good, as is black. I personally find that browny colours all look horrible, especially tan/caramel tones, and pastels are awful. Yellow is horrid on me because it makes my skin look yellow, but it looks nice on very dark skin. I agree about the deep jewel colours like emerald green. Most shades of green work on olive skin.

The colour people say look nice on me are yellow, navy and winey/burgundy and I`m wearing baby/sky blue today (cause I saw a pic of Kim Kardashian wearing it and it looked nice) and everyone said its lovely, never wore it before. Teal defo doesn`t suit me. I have to admit most of my wardrobe is grey thou....not good!
And I have no skirts or dresses really except a denim skirt that won`t be put on again since I realised it defo makes me look like a "lady of the night".

I`m actually going to take all my clothes out and have a good look today and see what my wardrobe needs.
