Surprised nothing been mentioned here with Mc Grane leading the field.

Lowry went from -5 back to level over the last 6 holes (when cameras followed him)

Hopefully McGrane can keep it up, really nice man.Met him once down in Headfort fishing one day while we were golfing, really down to earth.

There is a different world number one who likes to wear red but also gets moody and throws his clubs about

Westwood is a fine golfer, but just from interviews i've seen of the man on t.v he seems a bit moody or something. Could be totally wrong and only basing it as i said on t.v interviews.

That could be something to do with every sports reporter asking him whether
he thinks he deserves to be called the No.1 in the World because he has no major in his cabinet.
I would be pissed too if i finally achieved a lifelong dream only to have people
say that i don't deserve it.

McGrane is currently 4 back of the lead, Johnson is 1 further back with Westwood another shot back again.
All the Irish made the cut this week which is good to see.

Play suspended 'til tomorrow due to thunder and lightning,27 holes left for the leaders.
Shane Lowry at -6,just outside top ten and 4 off the lead.
Great to see Dustin Johnson and Todd Hamilton up on the leaderboard, could be the start of a trend for the americans, surprised such a player of Johnson's stature would travel...
Must have got nice appearance money, anybody know?

Shame about play being suspended, quite breezy day and Lowry had the lowest score of the day with one to play. Probably be all calm in the morning for the leaders to finish out the back 9. Mcgrane and Mcginley +2 and +6 for the day respectively.

I think Johnson stayed over after the open last year and played in Scandanavia. Could be some appearence money but nice to see young American players looking at tournaments outside the PGA tour.

Thought Johnstone sounded terribly stupid here to be honest - the ball was pushed well right and had run about 300yds down a cartpath. What's a fan gonna do? stuck his foot out, big deal - Rumford should've done what his two playing partners did and hit it down the fairway!

Fair play to Westwood, well deserved and now has cemented his No.1 ranking for a while longer.

still fail to see why he's avoiding Sawgrass this year, esp now he's number 1

for me the best player in the world right now is Luke Donald, his only problem is his lack of length so he finds some courses a little long but in terms of consistant quality ball striking he's the best at the mo

all credit to Westwood for his winning the last few weeks but would like to see him put it up to the big boys in Quail Hollow and Sawgrass(i understand he wants to play but QH but isn't allowed)

i don't want to start a discussion about the reasons he's not playing as some will say they are valid

I think he is avoiding the players is due to number of pga events he can play as he is not a paid up member.

no1 in the world doesn't need to be a member to play in the players
the reason he's missing it is because it would mean playing in the u.s for 1 comp then coming back to europe for 1 week and then back to the states for a few weeks prior to the u.s open

Its very messy alright, both Westwood and the Quail Hollow committee want him to play this
week, but the "rules" state he can't.

I also think that if people are making a lot of noise because he isn't playing in the Players,
then people on the Euro Tour should be complaining that the big name American stars
ain't playing in the BMW in Wentworth. Fair is fair.
